Head Coaching changes

Beginning of the NFL season I announced several head coaches who I thought should be fired during or after this NFL season I went back and found the names and here they are.
Eric Mangini
Tom Cable
Norv Turner
Marvin Lewis
Jack Del Rio
Jeff Fisher
Wade Phillips
Tom Coughlin
Andy Reid
Brad Childress
John Fox
Everyone in red has been fired. Here are a few of the ones I got wrong. Coughlin and Reid actually had good years this year. Coughlin cant take all the blame for the Giants falling apart in the end and he cant be blamed for Eli's turnover problems. Reid had his butt saved because of the switch over to Vick in week 2. The defense of the team has taken a big blow but I do see them getting that swagger back. Besides them here are the rest of this list. Marvin Lewis SHOULD be fired. This team has had two good years.. both those years in the playoffs they were one and done. He will be getting more control over the team so lets see how he does. Jack Del Rio is a joke of a coach. His team had the AFC South locked and they ended up fully missing the playoffs. He hasnt done much since becoming coach and he needs to go. Norv Turner is just a weird case. His teams always do great in the season and then come crunch time AKA the playoffs they crumble. This year they got off to a slow start and they couldnt recover.

Matt Dodge??

This whole NFL season I have constantly heard all negative comments about the Giants kicker Matt Dodge. He cant get hang time... he cant do directionals... he whiffs on kicks. Well he is a rookie and maybe people have too much on him. Today he was BLAMED for the Giants loss. I personally watched the game and yeah that punt should of went out of bounds away from Jackson and that play shouldn't have happened. This loss wasnt just because of him it should be on Tom Coughlin. The Eagles were down 21 points in the second half and the Giants could have killed the momentum. Manningham had a fumble on the sideline and the Eagles recovered. The scored on that following drive to cut it to 14 points. Watching this game I was saying they will kick an on side kick to get it back to score again. My father ALSO said the same thing and the Eagles did kick an onside. The Giants did not see that happening and had out the normal kick off team. This was the turning point They went down and scored again and ended up tying the game. The Giants got the game clock down to 13 seconds and the punt happened and the return happened. Now if Dodge got it out of bounds or did something different sure the Giants may have won this game. Sure he will probably be fired due to the fact this is not the first time he did something like this. Coughlin should be on the hot seat for letting a 21 point lead fade away from you.

Brian Schottenheimer is a BUM!!!

Brian Schottenheimer is such a bad piece to the Jets puzzle. He was picked up originally by the Jets in 2006 by then coach Eric Mangini. He was known for creative plays and was highly regarded as a future head coach. The last two years though he has slowed this teams potential in my opinion. Just in todays game against the Dolphins his play calling was so inept that it made Madden play calling look amazing. There was a play on a 4th and 2 and he ran a wildcat run up the middle??? It would have work had the Fins not put 9 guys in the box to stop Greene from running. He doesnt change anything up ever and when he calls plays they are so predictable. God forbid if he changed something up on the opposing team to confuse them. What is it with this no passing crap??? The team has Braylon Edwards and Santonio Holmes and they never seem to get the ball. Throw the ball more you pathetic waste of space. He is the son of Marty Schottenheimer and he too was fired from his job. Martys younger brother was also fired from the Packers because he had a terrible year. If the Jets got rid of this fool and put someone good in this team would be Super Bowl ready... FIRE SCHOTTENHEIMER!!!!

Brady is WHIPPED!!

We all know all the big time moments Brady has had. Three SuperBowl game winning drives, 50 touchdown passes in a single season and an MVP trophy. Since that 2007 SuperBowl though the Pats have not been that same team. Many say it is because of Randy Moss being on the team. In the sports world people get that when Moss is upset he wont play. Thats why Moss has been on 3 different teams this season. This season though we have seen a much different Tom Brady. He has all of a sudden gotten this swagger to him like he owns the NFL. He has recently been married to his supermodel girlfriend and they have a child together. This season he has looked more and more like a stylish Geico caveman. He has the long hair and the scruff look going while wearing expensive cloths. He said in an interview he is letting his hair grow because his wife likes it. Which is all well and fine but to say you wont cut it because of her? If you just came out and said I like it this way and I want to do it no one would be on you. Now he is becoming a spokeperson for Uggs shoes. I'm sorry but I think the whip has come out and he is being dragged around but his wife.

Cortland Finnegan is a punk

In case you don't have a clue as to who I am talking about. He is a cornerback on the Tennessee Titans. He is known to be antagonistic to other wide receivers. Today he was going against Andre Johnson in a game against the Texans. On a play he got his fist on Johnson's neck and face mask and the two started to go at it. They each pulled each others helmets off and Johnson EVENTUALLY got in two good right hooks. Both players are going to be fined and possible suspensions will be coming down. Here is the video clip of the fight please watch the whole video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IyQmc3xdik. The Titans have been for some time now called a dirty team. The defense has been under a lot of scrutiny from other teams. Several years ago Albert Haynesworth stomped on a guy and gave him stitches. This team has said they are only tough and play hard yet all of these issues come up. Jeff Fischer has been under a lot of stress due to the Vince Young issue and now this happens. When he was coming off the field he was smiling and waving to opposing players. He should be suspended for instigating this whole problem. Fischer should be fired and a new coach should come in and make all this go away. You can play tough but don't play dirty.

Mid Season review

The NFL season is now at its half way point and here are my team by team reviews.
AFC East
Jets: An ugly loss this past weekend from an inept offense that did nothing right. They have two away games against pretty weak teams. The team SHOULD do good.
Patriots: Of course they will do good because that has been what they ALWAYS do. Getting rid of Moss was the best choice for them. They can spread the field and not have to worry about making him happy.
Dolphins: 4-0 this year on the road while 0-3 at home. They have gotten away with some wins of the road it wont continue.
Bills: The season high point was picking up Lights Out Shawn Merriman.
AFC North:
Steelers: After a shocking start at 3-1 they are still looking good. What did you expect against the defending champs on Halloween? I plan on getting a Polamalu jersey this season
Ravens: An over rated team that gets over looked because of the defense. Flacco cant throw the ball and no one is coming down on this team.
Bengals: They got TO to play along side Ocho and TO is the main guy on the team? They dont have a defense and they have no control.
Browns: I have nothing here
AFC South
Colts: Got back on track by beating the Texans. I honestly think Manning could make high school kids superstars. Can he ever do anything wrong?
Texans: I picked them to do well this year and I will stick to that. They are never consistant though and that worries me.
Titans: Solid defense that will annoy you and a decent offense. Picking up Moss will help open that up for them.
Jaguars: They havent been good in year. That is going to continue.
AFC West:
Chiefs: Wait what the Chiefs have a decent team now? Solid offense that can get it done like the old Patriots and a good defense will help that.
Raiders: Wait what?!?! They became relevant? Oh wait everyone is on that bandwagon because they beat sub par teams thats right. Let me see them beat teams that are good and then we can talk.
Chargers: This team needs depth and they arent getting it. Never consistant enough and Norv Turner is in no way a head coach.
Denver: I had high hopes for this team but im glad to see Tebow on a bad team now. I cant begin to tell you what is going on with this team. It isnt working though.
NFC East:
Giants: Im sorry but I still havent bought into this team. They havent beaten any team that is good. They have looked good and all that. It was against inept teams. Lets see how they finish the year. Smooth sailing from here on out.
Washington: At .500 they have some issues. Mcnabb was pulled in the 4th for Grossman? I dont get the decision here. They need to get some receivers for him to throw to.
Philadelphia: Kolb has finally come around and they look good. Just wait for Vick to return and this team will be dangerous and could contend with the Gmen.
Dallas: This makes me happy to see them do terrible. No discipline what so ever and they have zero control of themselves. Kitna is not the answer neither is Phillips.
NFC North:
Green Bay: Two wins in a row and they sit on top of the division. They need to get Rodgers some time and he will be sick. I love there LB Matthews he is nasty... except when he hits Sanchez.
Chicago: I was never sold on them but they came out very strong but against bad teams. Teams now see that they have to beat up Cutler and they win. Hey Martz this isnt the 90's anymore and your QB doesnt have 7 seconds to wait to throw.
Minnesota. Farve is getting too old to play and cant do it anymore. Childress has ZERO control of this team. The players are running the team not him.
Detriot: Its bad that the Lions and Vikings are tied for worse in the division. A few missed plays/bad calls and they could be around .500 this season. A deadly deadly team with some talent.
NFC South:
Tampa Bay: Bucs have a punk kid at QB and everyone thinks they are the pride of the South. Well maybe if they beat some good I would believe it. Beat someone of worth and then talk to me.
Atlanta: The head coach is alot of fun to watch he is a players coach. I like Matt Ryan and this team has come around. White is a great wide out and plays his butt off
New Orleans: They have lost something since last year. They dont have a run game because both backs are out. Maybe when they come back the old Saints will be back... WHO DAT!
Carolina: The QB spin wheel continues week in and out. They have nothing to go with and they never have consistancy.
NFC West:
Seattle: Wow a surprise team with a decent core of guys. I dont like Hassleback due to the fact he complained about the refs in the SB.
St. Louis: Bradford has shocked me for how good he has done. I like him and what he has done to reenergize this team.
Arizona: The QB carousel needs to stop and leave one guy so the guys can get around one guy. How far they have dropped because Warner left.
San Francisco: I cant even begin to say how shocked I am with this. I thought they would be the best team in the division.

ALCS Yankees Problems

Well I was once again CORRECT on a teams problems and called it out before they were shown. The Yankees major problem was in fact there pitching. AJ Burnett was not the same guy as he was in the postseason last year. They LIMPED into the playoffs this year and got it easy in the first round. Look at who they got for the LDS it was again the Twins. The Twins are so over rated. The division is so weak its pathetic. So the Yankees three starters all had it easy because the Twins have such an over rated line up they cruised through that. The Rangers on the other hand had a deep deep line up They also have the Yankee killer on the team... Cliff Lee? 13 strike outs against a powerful team. The rotation was horrible this postseason. Lets try and play Burnett who lost 15 games during the year as the 4th starter. He went 6 innings gave up 6 hits which isn't all that bad... GAVE UP FIVE (5) RUNS!!! Pathetic waste of space on the team and shouldn't have been on the roster as a starter. Instead at the trade deadline you couldn't figure out who to get rid of??? GET RID OF BURNETT AND VASQUEZ!!! Don't get me going on him because he was another waste this year. The team couldn't hit all series long EXCEPT for Game 5. They looked pathetic and they should be embarrassed to be called the defending champions by the play they had.

4 in 12 more to go

The NFL season is a quarter of the way done. We have seen 4 weeks worth of football. This is going to be a team by team update.
NFC East
Redskins: They are perfect against the NFC East thus far but havent played any real quality teams... no a Vick-Less Eagles team doesnt count. The Cowboys have yet to show themselves.
Eagles: First its Kolb then Vick... he gets hurt now its back to Kolb but Garcia might be coming back... Fire Reid and get some sort of stability in Philly.
Giants: A lucky victory last night... The Bears went in over rated and they were exploited. This team needs consistancy from here on... the division is wide opened so they just need 2-3 wins and they are back in it.
Cowboys: One victory against Houston and now everything is right in Big D. Wade Phillips is no head coach. This team needs so much help its not even funny. First they need Jerry Jones to get out of day to day football operations.
NFC North:
Bears: I think one of the most over rated teams in all of football. They are trying a Madden style of offense and guess what the Giants showed how to stop it. Jay Cutler has been exposed.
Packers: Wow this is quite the offense. This team i think will be the team to beat in the long run. They are very good on both sides.
Vikings: Brett should have went to training camp and worked on his game... give him a break though his two prime receivers have not been playing just give them some time.
Lions: A surprising team to say the least... i know they havent won alot but they are going point for point with alot of teams.
NFC West
Seahawks: If every game were home games they would be 4-0... but guess what Pete they have away games in the NFL. They havent been making alot of news but i see potential. Get rid of the old man Hassleback and watch them do well.
Rams: Wait Bradford comes in and wins two games?? this kid has an arm wow.
Cardinals: The past two years they were the power house team out west... How one player leaving changed all that and im talking Leinart.
49'ers: This was the most complete team out west and they are still looking for win number one.
NFC South:
Saints: The only thing here is that they are still winning games but not at Madden speed. They have to work out kinks in the offense and get a new kicker.
Bucs: They finally have a defense to give the offense a shot at putting up points.
Falcons: A fun team to watch in my opinion they find a way to win games down the stretch.
Panthers: They need a new head coach and a whole new staff.... John Fox has to go.
AFC East:
Patriots: A weak defense in my opinion... they let up 28 against the jets and 30 against the bills until tonight they only let up 14. They still have an offense that will burn you.
Jets: after a horrible week one... three wins in a row against the division and they are sitting on top.... next week Holmes makes his first start and hopefully pace and revis come back.
Bills: Just a hopeless team they need an entire new team there.... at 0-4 it wont get better.
Dolphins: In my opinion they most over hyped team in the division. They were 2-0 going into the MNF game against the jets... They beat the bills and the bengals. They were finally exploited tonight.
AFC North
Steelers: Everyone thought 2-2 would be good until Big Ben came back... well they went 3-1 and lost to the ravens.
Ravens: They have a terrible QB that hasnt been given any ridicule until now anyway... He still cant pass it.
Bengals: TO and Ochocinco are on the team and they are only at 2-2. Ocho hasnt been making headlines with TD's either.
Browns: A lucky win against an inept Bengals team.
AFC West:
Cheifs: Did I not say it on here they were going to be good? Well at 3-0 they are best in the division and the only undefeated team in the league!!
Chargers: This is there last year to do something it looks like they are either terrible or on top of there game. Vincent Jackson needs to come back to give them a deep threat.
Broncos: They are at 2-2 and i like that better. They will be under the radar and could make a push at the end.
Raiders: They have one win and it came against the Rams and the rookie. They have nothing there and let the coaching turnstyle continue.
AFC South:
Texans: SURPRISE they have a new top dog in the south as of now. They have maybe one of the top 3 QBs in the league.
Colts: 0-2 against the division very un colts like and i like it.
Titans: A joke of a team... a corner who likes his coach was fined for flipping the bird and everyone laughed.
Jaguars: Del Rio must go because this team is going no where.

Whose Next?

After only three weeks of the NFL season the talk has begun about what coaches are going to be fired first. The list I think is going to be very long come the end of the season. Here is a list of who I think will be axed unless the team magically improves.
Marvin Lewis
Eric Mangini
Jack Del Rio
Jeff Fisher
Tom Cable
Norv Turner
Wade Phillips
Tom Coughlin
Andy Reid
Brad Childress
John Fox
I only put Jeff Fisher on this list because the last time the team made the Super Bowl was back in 1999 and they lost. How long do you have to go before something is done with the head coach. Marvin Lewis had the bad boys of the NFL and still has to prove something in the league. Mangini is a defensive coordinator not a coach.... the penguin has to go. He doesn't control his teams and doesn't scream when he really should. Tom Cable really has no team and is going no where with the NFL's rejects. Norv Turner has a great team in the regular season yet cant do in the playoffs. Wade Phillips needs a big year to save his job... I think NFC Title game might save it. Most Giants fans want him gone in 2007 until he went to the SB and won it... he doesn't have a leader on the team and is losing them. Andy Reid has been to 5 NFC title games and is the winningest coach in Eagles history.... lets see those SB rings! Brad Childress is interesting to me... he has to regain control of this team. I predict something like the Cowboys when they revolted against Barry Swisher and they won the Super Bowl. Lastly John Fox this guy went to the Super Bowl in 2003 and has yet to prove anything since then. He should have gotten the ax last year but didn't.

When will the Jets get respect?

Tonight on Sunday Night Football the New York Football Jets showed the football world they are for real this season. Without Calvin Pace and Revis the Jets managed to pull off a 31-23 win over the rival Dolphins. Alot of people were talking highly about the Dolphins due to the fact they were sitting at 2-0. They opened the season with a win over the Bills.... Monmouth University could beat the Bills. They played the Vikings next and they some how beat the Vikings. Farve was still getting through the pain in the ankle and made horrible throws. They fins put up 15 against the Bills and 14 against the Vikings. Okay sure they put up 23 against the Jets defense but they couldnt score when it counted the most. The Jets sat out Edwards to start the game and on his first major play he took it to the house for a touchdown. Wait until Holmes returns and watch how good the passing game is. Sanchez again threw for over 200 yards this week going for 256. He also threw for 3 touchdowns for the second game in a row. Tomlinson the guy everyone wrote off at the start of the year scored a touchdown tonight too. The Jets are only at 2-1 and are 2-0 in the division which puts them in first place. When will the Jets finally get some respect? You may be saying im biased due to the fact I am a die hard Jets fan and I have been for my whole life. The Jets will only get better when they get Pace, Revis and Holmes back.

BCS Vs Boise State

BCS or the Bowl Championship Series is a system of live polls and a computer generated system to help determine college footballs national champion. It was put into place during the 1998 season to help determine the major bowl games played after the new year. They are called the big four and they are Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Fiesta Bowl and Orange Bowl. The system is flawed because it uses a very complex computer system and only uses parts of the Associated Press polls to determine the National Title game. Since the 1998 season the system has had both 1 and 2 play against each other according to the BCS Polls. There have have only 9 times where the AP 1 and 2 have played against each other. The problem lies in that a small school known as Boise State. They have been known as the major under dog in the college football world. They are currently the 3rd ranked team in the country. They won last year in the Fiesta Bowl against TCU. They are also known for the 2007 Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma when they beat them 43-42 in overtime. The kid on that Boise State team purposed to his girlfriend on the field after the game was over. She was also a Boise State cheerleader. Americans love to hear about underdog stories. This squad is known for perfect seasons and beating nationally known college programs. The BCS is flawed in this case because most years the title game has some kind of flaw in it. Look at the last Florida national title that they won. They had to play the lowly sooners in that game when it should have been against Texas. For once, if they go undefeated, let these kids play in the biggest game of the year.

Jose Bautista... FRAUD?

So today in MLB three major story lines occured but one made my blood boil. Albert Pujols ONCE AGAIN broke 40 home runs. This guy is considered by many to be the best pure player to play. He just broke 400 home runs this year and is known for hitting the ball over the wall. Ichiro Suzuki again hit 200 hits in a single season. This ties the record set by Pete Rose which is currently 10 straight seasons. This man is known for his legs and getting big hits. He isnt known for his big bat but for the small ball that he plays. Lastly today Jose Bautista hit his 50th home run. Why is this important you ask yourself? For the duration of his career he is NOT known for hitting the long ball. His career high until today was 16. Thats correct you are not going crazy his career high is 16. He averaged between 12-16 home runs a year for 5 of the last 6 years. Suddenly he belts 50 plus home runs in a season?? I'm calling fraud on this one. He "claims" that he adjusted his swing and when he commits to the ball. So basically you are saying for all these years now it was your swing holding you back? Im sorry but a hitting coach would have seen that and made that change years ago. He is on some kind of drug that needs to be found right away. Its one thing to see a steady increase in home runs over the course of a career but this is an insult to the game. Guys go from low to high steadily and you know they just improved. This guy goes from mediocre to suddenly being the king of swing. He is on steroids and im insulted that they are praising him like he is a god.

Jeter (Cheat or gamesmanship)

I have always been a fan of Derek Jeter. I have honestly watched him from his first year in New York until today. I admire his playing and just what he brings to the Yankees. The other night though I did lose a little bit of respect for him due to him faking being hit by a pitch. From what I have heard and read people feel what he did was right along what others did. Football players using the ref to block other guys. Basketball players doing alittle more pushing then what is allowed. NASCAR drivers crashing guys so they dont win. So yeah cheating is all across sports and it is going to happen no matter what happens. Jeter is a different story. He is known for how clean he has been. He never had problems with the law like other plays... Vick comes to mind. He is only known for the gorgeous women he has dated. Some of the notable women he has been with include Joy Enriquez, Mariah Carey, former Miss Universe Lara Dutta, Jordana Brewster, Vanessa Minillo, Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly. I fully understand the whole hype and all. 5 World Series rings over the course of his career. 4 of them came in a 5 year span. He currently has more hits then any Yankee to ever play. He is known for his big time hits. What he did though in my view is busch league. He is suppose to be a man of integrity and is a role model to a lot of people. I don't agree with what he did but im just your everyday normal fan.

NFL Season Opener

Last night the Saints began there title defense against the Vikings. They were down in the Louisiana Superdome for this game. Everyone was hyping it up as the big rematch of the NFC Championship game. The game ended 14-9 in what actually turned out to be a defensive battle. Me personally, I was extremely disappointed in how the game turned out. Brett Farve notoriously is known for slow starts in the first game of the year. This had nothing to it though. A few big plays here and there but nothing of actual fun to watch. The Vikings has no real big play makers due to Percy Harvin being out much of camp due to Migraine headaches and Sidney Rice due to hip surgery. The Vikings looked way out of sync and were very rusty. The only good thing that came out of the game was that Adrian Peterson did not fumble the ball and he led the game in rushing with 87 yards rushing. The only Vikings turnover came from Bretts interception to Vilma. The Saints looked like the team from last year. Any time they wanted to throw the ball they could at will. Brees was on target and made no ill advised passes. The Vikings defense held them in check but the offense couldnt capitalize. As i previously stated the game was a disappointment for me personally. I was hoping for a shoot out from both QB's. It was only the first game and I guess things can only go up from here.

Return of Revis Island

After 36 long days the Revis holdout is officially over. This coming from ESPN and NFL websites. The deal is suppose to be a 7 year deal which can be voided after 4 years. With Revis back this gives the Jets officially the best secondary in all of football... want to fight about it? Look I am not here to start a fight about our teams. With Revis back now the Jets have one of the scariest defenses in all of football. He also brings leadership which I think has been lacking on that team all pre season long.

We survived farve watch 2010

As most people know Brett Farve has decided to come and play football again. He is going into his 20th season. He holds all types of football records good and bad. I was talking about this awhile back. I respect him for the player he is. He has the most passing yards the most touchdown passes and the most starts of anyone to play the game. He played the day after his father died and almost threw for 300 yards in a single half. He has played through all kinds of injuries and is said to be a great leader in the locker room. If anyone does not respect that then you are not human. I dont respect him though as a person. Every year he does the same thing over and over. It goes from he is done to he may come back. Look why not just say, "im not sure what I will do just yet i will let you all know when i know. Instead he has this media circus following him and it gets annoying after awhile. Im glad he is back though and it will do the game very good to have him back. The media circus around him needs to be controlled though.

NEW Meadowlands Stadium

Last night was the first game to be played in the New Meadowlands Stadium. It was the Jets vs the Giants. Jets ultimately lost 31-16 but it was our back ups who lost the game. The defense was steller as usual and was pretty much lights out all night. Not much you can say except some of those kids wont make it past this week. This isnt about the game itself because well it was pre season and all the game was for was to see who would make the cut. This is going to be about the stadium. The old Giants Stadium is completely gone. It wasnt that long ago football was being played. The stadium is GONE!!! Where it once stood is now parking. Incredible what technology can do. I read an article on the 12th about why they closed Giants stadium... the article is right here. Go ahead and read it then come back. http://www.app.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=20108130329 Oh good you came back. His first point was that the escalators and double helix stairs were gone. I loved the new lay out actually. We went up and down an escalator for our seats. The entrances also have ramps going down the sides of the Stadium for what I believe is an easy exit. It was honestly not that bad when we were leaving. His next big problem was the bathrooms and that they werent user friendly. The mens room was great actually. You walk in and all the urinals are right when you go in. They had alot of them and they were the ones where they have no water. Then you keep moving through to the other side where they have sinks. This place has a flow and makes it so people arent going out the entrance and in on the exit. Much better and good job workers. Lastly the concourse was MUCH MUCH bigger. I was able to walk around and not feel like I was being crushed into a ball. They made it much bigger and much more roomy. The guy who wrote the article compares it to the new Yankee stadium which is like a Mall get over yourself. On another note... the man who tried to push off firemen ed during the jets chant. You got so lucky we didnt riot. I understand people may hate the chant and all. Its a jets home game though and yeah he was probably drunk but it gives you no right to hit him. What if he fell and cracked his head open like Eli?? I lost alot of respect for giants fans after last night. I came home to find that everyone was talking trash after a pre season win. I would like to remind you it doesnt mean anything to the regular season. The Raiders one year went a perfect 4-0 in the pre season. That regular season they went 4-12. Just something to think about.

Jets Giants game

As most football fans know the Giants and Jets shared a stadium. Shockingly this stadium was called Giants Stadium.... shocking I know I was too. Giants were the landlord and the Jets were tenants in a small house and had to pay to be there for years. This year though they both have equal rights in the New Meadowlands Stadium. Jets and Giants got married and are sharing the landlords house now. The arguments have now come up as to what the stadium is going to be called. Last time i checked the stadium had NO NAME!!!! It is being called the New Meadowlands Stadium just until they get a top sponsor. They came close to this German bank but it turns out they were affiliated with Nazi Germany back in WWII and many local Jewish groups were against it so they ended talks with the bank. The stadium is NOT and i repeat NOT Giants stadium. Giant fans can keep saying that is the name but show me where it says it on the new stadium and I will believe you on that. Today in the Asbury Park Press had an article asking about why they closed down the old stadium. How about it was OLD and that both teams wanted a new stadium??? The article talks about how the stadium has no escalators and the concourses are too small for this guy. My mom and dad both went to check out our new seats and mom was telling me that the guy was completely wrong. This guy was just annoyed cause his precious GMEN lost there home. The Giants still have an amazing NEW home I don't get why you are so mad. There was an article on ESPN talking about how this Giants Rookie was saying he wants to kick the Jets ass and how we use the Giants field and Stadium. As stated before the two teams now have EQUAL share in the stadium and is split 50/50. Its comments like this that get my blood boiling. At least investigate before you talk this way you don't look like a moron. They article talks a lot about how the Giants haven't watched the show Hard Knocks. The show follows the Jets through training camp and how they run. Most people probably wont watch it because they either don't like football or don't like the Jets. I'm sorry but when does watching a show matter in a game? The game on Monday is a PRESEASON GAME!!!!! There is nothing at stake except for "bragging rights" I use quotation marks because its preseason and nothing is proven in the preseason.

New York State of mind?

In case anyone hasn't heard. The New York Knicks have tried to bring back Isiah Thomas as there General Manager. The thing is everyone in the organization doesn't like him and banned that hiring. So he is going to be a consultant for the team but there is an issue with that. The NBA doesn't allow teams to talk to college kids until they commit to the draft. Thomas is the head basketball coach down in FIU. Does anyone sense a problem here? Look I will say it that I have no interest in basketball what so ever. I think the NBA is boring and not fun to watch. The Knicks are so in the dumps its not even funny. There owner just wants to help his friends without giving a thought to having actual basketball knowledge. This is the guy who wasted the teams money putting them in a financial hole. He was charged in a sexual harassment lawsuit by a member of the MSG staff. So why not bring him back? I hear he tells funny knock knock jokes.

The New York Jets have been a lot of peoples super bowl picks before the year has started. The star of the defense is not with the team though. Darrelle Revis has been holding out to get a larger contract and the Jets wont give it to him. Just stop being a baby and just ask for 7-8 million then talk to the team about a new contract and work something out. The owner has now said he doesn't think Revis will be with the team. Good thing they picked up Cromartie and drafted a new cornerback because if this does happen our defense will have a major hole in it.

The New York Mets have what I think is one of the top 5 offensive batting line ups in the league. Yet this team is a game under .500 at 55-56? The problem lies in the coaching staff. Manuel has been there and yet shows no emotion when something bad happens. Its like having Eric Mangini back with the Jets. Shakes his head and will have it worked out in practice. Look the entire coaching staff has to go plain and simple. You have one of the top 3 pay rolls in the league and yet your fighting to just be over .500.

We also have the New York Giants. They wear the color blue and are coming off a majorly disappointing season. They have a new defensive coordinator but I have been hearing positives from camp.

Lebron part 2

Okay so its been just about a week since the famous Lebron decision of where he would be playing for the next few years. I figured all the talk would end but it hasnt. He is still getting all the spot light on him and im starting to get annoyed. Everyone is annoyed at him and mad because of what he did. Has anyone noticed that the NBA is a business and he could choice where ever he wanted. Lay off the man and let him play. Many people are saying he took the easy road to a title by getting with Wade and Bosh to have the new big 3 in miami. Everyone was all up in arms when this happened and how dare they. How come no said that when the Celtics big 3 did the same thing. The very next year they won the title and everyone was excited. Now the one thing that has annoyed me about all this is everyone trying to get into Miami to play for a title. PENNY HARDAWAY wants in on this. The guy hasnt played in over 2 seasons. He has be constantly hurt and will only be sucking money out of the Heat just so he can win a title. He claims he can be an asset to the team and bring something to the table. They have the talent there already... they dont need some washed up old guy trying to tag along for the ride. I compare it to an older brother going on a weekend trip with friends and then at the last second... mom makes him take his younger brother along and ruins everything. I hope no one signs him and he has to sit there twirling his thumbs.

The next topic i wanted to talk about was the Terrell Owens deal going on. He wasnt resigned by the Bills at the end of the season and no one has bought him in for a try out. Drew Rosenhaus, His agent, claims they will have people calling they are just waiting. Look he is third all time in receiving TD's and in receiving yards. He has some talent whether you like him or not is not the topic here. His camp has to realize he will only be called now if someone has an injury to there team and needs a back up WR. He isnt going to be your number one anymore. Now you can point to his decline in numbers in Buffalo to say that. Frankly Jerry Rice would have seen his numbers decline too since the Bills are terrible. He has talent but they arent what they were. He is old at the age of 36 and has 14 years under his belt. No team is going to make him there number 1 receiver it just isnt going to happen maybe a 2 or 3. It may be time for him to hang them up.

R.I.P.

So today a true sports legend passed away... George Steinbrenner passed away today at 80 years old. He purchased the team back in 1973 for 10 million dollars. The team has grown to be worth well over 1 billion dollars. This man was in charge of 7 world series titles and 11 AL pennants being bought to the Bronx. Look you may or may not like this man but what he did for this franchise can not be over looked. They were the laughing stock of the league and he bought them back in the 70s. The 90's is where he made a name for himself being that the team won 4 titles in 5 years and went to two more after that. Winning the world series last year to add another ring to the mans hand. You cant say you didn't see this coming though. From the All Star game in 2008 at the OLD Yankee stadium until today you really didn't see from him or hear from him. He was in such bad health that it wouldn't have been much longer. He was a hated man but damn he was a respected man. Thanks for the memories George.

Lebron

The next weeks forecast across the northern US is going to be chilly. A cold front is moving in from Cleveland because of Lebron James. In case you have missed it which is pretty much impossible. He is considered the best free agent this off season. Until tonight though because he has declared he will be with the Miami Heat and leaving Cleveland. This has been the most talked about topic over the last week now. Where will he go?? Why will he go?? I want to clear some of this up for everyone. The Nets and Knicks were contenders for him because they had a large space in salary for him. I'm sorry you could offer me all the money in the world I would never play for them. The Nets are the worst team in the league and the Knicks haven't had any form of success in recent years. They are both rebuilding and from what I have heard the Nets are in the process of moving to Brooklyn. He is 25 years old people and in his prime. He wants a title by now. Everyone who plays a sport wants a title and the ring that goes with it. The Nets and the Knicks could not offer him that for years to come. He would go back to his rookie season and have to wait 8 years plus before his team even made it to the big time. The Heat are stacked now... They have Bosh, Wade and now James. As I will call them the new Big 3. I cant say whether or not they will win it all next season. They are going to be really good though as long as they can work together which I hope for. I am in no way a basketball fan and I actually find it real boring to watch. This is the last time I will discuss this topic. Now it is on to FarveCenter until the beginning of the NFL season.

NFL Break Down

As promised I will go through a team by team break of the up coming NFL season. New York Jets rookie camp begins July 29th and veterans have to report August 1st. So the season is almost here. So I will start in the NFC and make my way over the AFC. This will be the only topic for this one.
NFC:
East:
Giants - This was a team that got a huge overhaul due to there recent success. Plax is doing time in jail and Pierce is bye bye. This squad lost a defensive coordinator to the head coaching department. They finished 3rd in the division at 8-8... now granted basically the whole defensive squad got hurt and Eli had that foot injury.
Eagles: Donovan Mcnabb is finally out of Philly. I can assure you many many fans are thrilled for him to be gone. This team has a decent QB to take over but no real backup. With recent events regarding Vick they could be in trouble. I don't see this team making it next year.
Cowboys: They finally won a game in December and won the division by sweeping the Eagles last year... sorry Philly fans. They beat them in the first round of the playoffs then got steam rolled by the Vikes. This is a promising team this year.
Redskins: New head coach and a new Veteran QB in McNabb. They don't have a defense and are coming off a 4-12 season. Haynesworth cant decide what he wants and is being a little baby about it. Give this squad a year or two to get themselves going and we could see a 4 team division who are all good.
South:
Saints: Who Dat nation celebrated a Super Bowl win last season. 13-3 and the best team in the NFC. Bree's is on the cover of Madden and most of the team returns.... what could go wrong?? MADDEN CURSE!!!! He will get hurt, maybe not serious but enough to limit him.
Panthers: finished at 8-8 last season they got rid of the franchise QB Delhomme... FINALLY!!! They had one good year and that was back in 2003. Fox has made bad decisions over the years and now the team has a new QB in charge. They got Jimmy Clausen but I would doubt he gets any starts all year.
Falcons: Kind of a fun team to watch. The head coach for them is funny to watch and listen to and Matt Ryan has looked amazing since his first year. Missed the playoffs last season but I can see them making a huge push this coming year.
Bucs: They stink... they need years of rebuilding... NEXT!!!
West:
Cardinals: Feel good story of the league... behind the Saints. They won back to back division titles and put up the most combined points in a playoff game with the Packers. To bad all there offense was dead after that game that they were destroyed by New Orleans in the Super Dome. Warner has officially hung up his cleats and now Leinart has to prove his worth.
49ers: Another fun team because of the coach. Singletary doesn't put up with anything and I can appreciate that. 8-8 last season but the division is so weak they could make waves.
Seahawks: Coming off a 5-11 year and a new head coach in Pete Caroll??? Look I like him and he proved he could do it in the NFL. He put together a small dynasty at USC. Give him a few years to build up this squad.
Rams: No comments
North:
Vikings: Who is there QB???? If its Brett expect them to be just as good if not better. If its Jackson back down to a .500 squad again.
Packers: Should have won that shoot out with Arizona but a blown call and all that ruined a great game by Rodgers. His first year wasn't great... last year he was amazing. Expecting to see big things from him in the future.
Bears: Da Bears haven't done much since 2006... The defense there is getting old and they don't have that same spark. Hester should stay at kick returner because he hasn't done much there. Cutler is a whiny little punk... Said he would replace Elway???? He hasn't proven much to anyone.
Lions: Again... no comments for them.
ON TO THE AFC:
East:
Patriots: Brady's first year back from ACL surgery and took him a while to get going. It looked like they would run away this year. The defense looks out of touch and weak. The captains all left there so it all new guys. Brady became too cocky and now they aren't looking too good. Moss may or may not be playing or want to stay. Team is getting old and so is Belicheat.
Jets: Cinderella story last year... 9-7 and made the AFC title game and came 30 minutes from playing in the.... phew almost said it. That's a banned word in this house. Sanchez had too many interceptions and no one to throw to. Picked up Holmes and Tomlinson for the offense. The number 1 ranked defense picked up guys and are looking good to make a "run"... no pun intended.
Bills: Another bad team that cant get going. TO is out there and they have no real control up there. They hired a new head coach but I cant remember his name. This team has no stability and wont be going anywhere anytime soon.
Dolphins: The cat is boring and pointless. Teams now know how to block it. Except for the Jets... recap to the Monday Night let down of last year. They went from division champs to third place at 7-9. They couldn't stand up to some of the power house teams. Defense lost Taylor to the Jets. Ted Ginn Jr is also gone.
South:
Colts: They are becoming a lot like the 90's Braves. They win all these division titles but only have one SB title to show for it. Manning made a terrible throw to give away the title to the Saints. High power offense that is going to return next year. Defense will be looking good too.
Titans: Fisher currently is the longest tenured coach in the league and he better thank Young for saving his ass. Started off last year 0-6 and management told them to go to young who got them to 8-8 to finish the year. Young now has a few problems going on and Chris Johnson wants more money.
Texans: First winning season in franchise history last year. No playoffs for them but they could get the wild card spot next season. Andre Johnson is there big guy and a tremendous player.
Jaguars: They have a coach who likes to dress nicely.... all I got on them. They cant stand up to the powerhouses.
West:
Chargers: They continue there domination for at least another year. High powered team with a lot of weapons. Lost two players though already and may lose Wide Receiver Jackson. They need a Super Bowl berth though this year to save Turners job.
Broncos: A team that will turn the corner this year. A good defense and a very good offense and they will make some waves this year. They proved they could beat New England time to take the next step.
Chiefs: Patriots have all there old guys down there now. Weis and Cornell are both there as Offense and Defense Coordinators. Matt Cassell who had no success there with have an army of coaches who know how to win. Give them a year or two and they will be in the playoffs.
Raiders: HAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHA joke of a team
North:
Bengals: They should have another show... Meet the Convicts. They have Ochocinco who is by far my favorite player because he is entertaining to watch. I'm sorry everyone. They didn't stake up well with the Jets and Revis island shut them down. They had a one hit wonder year.
Ravens: Went from 13-3 to 9-7 and couldn't pass the ball against New England. They had well over 300 yards rushing and I think below 20 yard passing. Have to give Flacco someone to throw to. They got Boldin from the Cardinals to do that now.
Steelers: The QB is out for at least 4-6 weeks to start the year and the QB taking for then doesn't have a record over .500. Not looking good for the steel city. They have the defense to help but the offense doesn't have a spark without Big Ben. They MAY get a wild card berth.
Browns: They have a lot of guys who they don't know how to use. Mangini isn't gonna hit it off and he will be gone by the end of the year.

NFC
East: Cowboys
South: Falcons
West: 49ers
North: Brett Farves Vikings or Packers

AFC:
East: Jets
South: Colts
West: Chargers
North: Ravens
Wildcard: Bengals and Patriots

NFC Title Game
Packers Falcons
AFC Title Game

here it is

Well I am sure everyone has been waiting for this one. Here we go and lets start with baseball. I know it is suppose to be Americas past time and all that lovely stuff. I have gotten tired though of all these no hitters and perfect games we have had this year. As of last July there have been 6 no hitters of which 3 have been perfect games. I'm sorry I cant be excited about it anymore. The reason has to be the drop in PED or performance enhancing drugs. I know all the sites and shows are drooling over the pitchers this year. I'm not getting all the hype up though and maybe I am just a bad fan. ESPN had an ENTIRE day devoted to Strasburg and his big league debut. I know this is a huge deal for fans and the baseball world but he didn't pitch against anyone very good. His first two teams he faced were the Pirates and the Indians. If you look up both of the teams records they are both at the bottom of there divisions. Go ahead... check it out ill even give you a link http://espn.go.com/mlb/standings. Good your back see i told you. His third start was against the white sox and he got a no decision and the team still lost. So he played against two bad teams and won. He played a good team and got a no decision. His latest start which by my watch was 4 days ago. He played the Royals AND LOST!!! He is going to be the next Johan Santana. He is going to do very good in games but get no run support. Which is what happened in his last start. Gave up one run and still lost? I don't get it but that's my take on it.

Moving on to a short short segment on the World Cup taking place. I supported 4 teams going in USA England Portugal and Ireland. Ireland didn't get in because of a blown call against France. USA and England both got knocked out in the last two days. Your asking yourself why England and Portugal?? England because I like Wayne Rooney and I like Portugal cause of Cristiano Ronaldo. Just look Ronaldo up and tell me you don't like him.

Lastly and my biggest portion of this post... FOOTBALL!!! One month two days from right now the Jets Rookies report to camp. August 1st is whole team camp and I would go... but the site is 4 hours away and I wouldn't want to subject myself to that drive up and back. So I will go into my division picks and why... I will save a later post to breaking down team by team.
AFC:
East: Jets... strong performance last year.... number 1 defense returning. They have weapons on offense now
South: Colts... went to the super bowl the team is hungry for more... the division has been there's since 2003
West: tough one for me but Chargers... they are the best team out there... no other team is ready to make the race with them.
North: Another tough one for but I'm gonna go with the Ravens. Coming off a disappointing year i think they will play Ravens football and they gave Flacco some weapons to throw to
NFC:
East: This is super tough for me... Cowboys though... I KNOW I KNOW I'M SORRY!!!! Giants need a lot of work... Eagles lost all there stars and are old.. time to get rid of Reid. Redskins don't have a defense or offense... give this division a year or two to get back there swagger... also MILES AUSTIN plays for the boys
South: Falcons... madden curse strikes down Brees and the saints will fall... Defending Champs never have luck. Falcons have been looking great since cleaning up after Vick
West: This is the weakest division... 49ERS though reclaim glory. All the other teams are rebuilding... I like what Singletary has over there.
North: Depends who quarterbacks the Vikings. I'm gonna say either way though it will be the Packers... they are gonna be mad from last year and will show they still got it.

Well that's it for this one. Please let me know what you think. Next week check out my team by team break down... I will go through all 32 NFL teams.

the first

Oh wow cool I created my own blog. So this is going to be a blog devoted to sports and only sports. Mainly football, baseball, and hockey with a few random ones every so often. My first official one is going to consist of my view on the baseball year so far and my predictions for the football season coming up.
